Melamine (Melamine) (chemical formula: C3H6N6), commonly known as melamine, protein powder, IUPAC name “1,3,5 – triazine-2 ,4,6 – triamino”, is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic triazine organic compounds used as chemical raw materials. It is white monoclinic crystal, almost tasteless, slightly soluble in water (3.1g / L at room temperature), soluble in methanol, formaldehyde, acetic acid, heat ethylene glycol, glycerol, pyridine, insoluble in acetone, ether, the body harmful, not for food processing or food additives.
Function and use
Formaldehyde condensation polymerization with melamine resin can be obtained, can be used for plastics and coatings industries, but also for the textile anti-fold, shrink-proof treatment agent. It can also be used for strong, heat-resistant decorative sheet, moisture-proof paper and gray leather tanning agents, synthetic adhesive laminates fire, water repellent agent or hardening agent fixed. From melamine, formaldehyde, alcohol 582 obtained for the raw material of melamine resin. Used as a solvent-based polyurethane coatings leveling agent, excellent special effects.
